We service Vancouver from approximately Clark St. to Terminal Ave to Arbutus St and King Edward Ave. We do not service Downtown.
If you are outside of our service area we are happy to offer virtual sessions.
The first step to beginning private training is a virtual one hour consultation. This allows us to get to know you and your dog and create a training plan.
After that we can schedule in person sessions within our service area. All of our private sessions online and in person are the same fee of $175 + tax
We are currently taking clients struggling with all things puppy stuff, leash manners, general manners and recall.
We are currently not taking clients who are looking for help with aggression, reactivity, resource guarding, stranger danger or handling issues. But there are many wonderful local trainers who do work with these concerns we would be happy to refer you to.
Absolutely! I know it's weird to get on board with virtual training but we can make incredible progress working with you and your dog virtually.
When training your dog we recommend a front clip harness and a flat leash. We do not use any shock/E collars, choke chains, prong collars or retractable leashes.
In positive reinforcement training our top priority is your dogs well being. We want both you and your dog to be having a good and stress free time when training. We look for the things your dog does correctly and reward those things instead of honing in on what they are doing that we find undesirable. We then replace those undesirable behaviours with ones we like.
They get reinforced! Reinforcing a behaviour with something your dog likes such as treats, toys or praise (preferred reinforcement will depend on the dog) will increase the likelihood they do that desirable behaviour more often.
We avoid your dog doing undesirable things by setting them up to succeed from the start. But if your dog does perform an undesirable behaviour we redirect it to a behaviour that we do like and have reinforced in that past. We do not punish your dog for doing anything incorrectly.
